Govt to award RM3.2b worth of contracts this week (Edge)

Within a fortnight of tabling the second economic stimulus package in parliament, the government is to award this week projects valued at RM3.2 billion, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced today.

Najib, who is also finance minister, said RM1.3 billion of the sum would be awarded to contractors for the improvement, upgrading and development of facilities and infrastructure of 322 schools nationwide.

Some RM95.5 million worth of projects would be awarded for the rehabilitation and improvement of police stations, he said.
