Malaysia Jan factory output shrinks 20pc

MALAYSIA's factory output fell 20.2 per cent in January from a year ago in line with analyst expectations, official data showed today.
Analysts in a Reuters poll had forecast a fall of 20.3 per cent for the industrial production index, which measures manufacturing, mining and electricity output.
The December data was revised to a fall of 15.0 per cent from a drop of 15.6 per cent.
Manufacturing output fell 26.7 per cent in January from a year earlier.
