Oil and gas player SapuraCrest Petroleum’s net profit for the fourth quarter ended Jan 31 slid 21% to RM26.3 million or 2.24 sen a share, from RM33.3 million or 3.18 sen per share a year earlier. The lower earnings were due to higher taxes. Revenue for 4Q rose 41.8% to RM849.8 million.
Good news about the Ipoh-Padang Besar double tracking project after MMC-Gamuda Joint Venture announced the project was progressing on schedule and is 21.4% complete. The JV plans to hire 6,000 more workers and give out another RM2 billion in sub-contracts
