Packet One keen on India but not eyeing licence (BT)

PACKET One Networks Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Green Packet Bhd and Malaysia's first telco to provide WiMAX services network, plans to expand its business in India but is not bidding for a spectrum licence there.
Green Packet group corporate communications manager Shirley Ah Yong said the company is in talks with a local player interested to bid for the WiMAX licences to provide its technical and operational expertise.
"P1 International, our WiMAX consulting business unit looks at global WiMAX opportunities such as these to assist aspiring WiMAX operators.
"Services offered include helping secure WiMAX licences and technology and business roadmap planning to enable shorter-time-to-market and faster returns on investment," she told Business Times.
