The contracts for the new main low-cost carrier terminal (LCCT) building and runway
works worth RM1bn are expected to be awarded in September or October, sources tell
The Edge. It is understood that the construction works will start by year-end and will be
completed 3Q 2011. The 150,000 sq m terminal will have the capacity to handle 30-45m
passengers a year, and is located 1.5km from the main terminal. It is publicly known that
Gamuda, IJM and Sunway Holdings are interested in the LCCT job. Other potential
bidders include Fajar Baru Builders Group, Mudajaya and WCT. (The Edge Weekly)
