AWC Bhd, an integrated facility management and engineering solutions provider, has secured a RM177.4 million contract in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, from Aldar Properties PJSC.
Under the deal, AWC via its subsidiary Nexaldes Sdn Bhd is to design, supply and install its proprietary Stream automatic pneumatic waste collection system at the eastern precinct of the Al Raha Beach Development.
In a statement issued yesterday, AWC group chief executive and managing director Azmir Merican said the contract will contribute positively to the group's earnings for the financial years ending 2010 and 2011.
"The contract includes an infrastructure package for eight waste transport pipe networks of about 20km and four collection stations to serve more than 100 development plots, many of which will be built over the next five years.
