Focus Point eyes Indonesian mart (BT)

Focus Point Holdings Bhd, which plans to take advantage of growing demand for professional eyecare services in the region, is eyeing the Indonesian market.

"We recently opened our first overseas outlet in Brunei," its president and chief executive officer, Datuk Liaw Choon Liang told reporters after the company's annual general meeting here today.

"This is a major step in our ambition to transform Focus Point into a regional franchise. We will continue to explore further opportunities for growth in the region," he said.

Liaw also said while the company is seeking opportunities in Indonesia, this is still at the preliminary stage.

"Focus Point is currently the leader in the professional eye care industry in Malaysia, garnering over a 10 per cent market share.

"We intend to increase market share as there is still plenty of room for the industry to grow due to the ever-changing eyewear trend," he added.

Liaw said the company is undertaking an aggressive promotions campaign while revamping its branches to attract more customers,adding, this would help increase the market share.
