Malaysia Stock Market - Sentiment Index

Asian markets saw their initial losses deepen in Monday as investors grew skeptical following the historic downgrade of U.S. debt and moves to shore up European debt over the weekend. Gold also rose to a new nominal record near $1,700 an ounce.

Local sentiment lost total confidence despite of the gradual recovery of the key index. The Intra-day Oscillator was seen lingering deep in the red area and finished at -4,202.48; lost 1,147.17 when compares with its starting point. The Average recorded a loss of 4,281.54.

At the end of the day, %K(yellow) of MSCD recorded as -1,312.48 (-539.64), %D(red) -739.55 (-283.47) and the Histogram -176.59 (-99.09). Both indicators plummeted into uncharted area and the Histogram printed a significant long negative bar.

Conclusion

Market sentiment continued to soak in deep pessimism today with extensive and intensive selling across the board.

The fact that Dow Jones tumbled another 634 points last night will add more salts to wounds.
