Sentiment Index - Malaysia Stock Market

Constructed and Written by Smartbiz

Local sentiment followed regional trend turned cautious after the disappointing US economic data. The Oscillator slid into the red shortly after the opening and ended at -170.90; lost 325.15 when compares with its opening point. The Average recorded a loss of 205.09.

In MSCD, %K (Yellow) computed as -165.54 (-7.19), %D (Red) -190.14 (-1.20) and the Histogram +36.24 (-2.91).

After today’s market, both indicators were flat and the Histogram printed its second shorter bar in the positive zone.

Market sentiment turned weaker after a long streak of good performances. Sentiment seems affected by Key Index’s continuous failure to stay above the 1,600 level.

Based on MSCD, market sentiment has actually built up an upward trend and the strength shall remain so long as %K stays above %D.
