Sentiment Index - Malaysia Stock Market

Constructed and written by Smartbiz

Market sentiment turned weaker today as regional trend plagued by doubts on global recovery. Report on US tepid private-sector job growth raising concern about the unemployment situation of the State. The Intraday Sentiment Oscillator fell straight into the red to end at -132.80; lost 94.56 when compares with its opening point. The Average recorded a loss of 217.05.

In MSCD, %K (Yellow) computed as -221.60 (+0.83), %D (Red) -235.26 (+1.46) and the Histogram -10.64 (+6.07).

After today’s market, both key indicators were almost flat but the Histogram responded positively to print another shorter bar in the negative zone.

Market sentiment return to neutral as yesterday’s gain was offset by today’s loss. It was noted that gains especially for that of low-liners were slashed by profit takings as the bellwether FBMKLCI lingering up and down. However, the last minute buying indicates investor’s confidence in the market is still in existence.
