Sentiment Index - Malaysia Stock Market

Constructed and written by Smartbiz

Local market was quiet today as regional markets continued to weigh by erozone debt crisis. The Intraday Sentiment Oscillator crawled into the red after an hour’s trade but loss was minimal. At closing, the Oscillator ended at its day-high in low volume at +137.37; gained 28.61 when compares with its opening point. The Average recorded a loss of 0.62.

In MSCD, %K (Yellow) computed as -479.39 (+87.02), %D (Red) -390.68 (+31.22), %A (Pink) -306.68 (+11.55) and the Histogram -80.61 (-2.03).

After today’s market, all line indicators recorded gains and reversed upwards but the Histogram continued to print another negative bar.

Market fell into stagnant as volume decreased tremendously to about 7 mln shares. Another interpretation of the low volume is investor has ceased to selling but opted to a look and see attitude amidst unclear situation. The last minute buying does not actually make any sense in such trading volume.
