TAS confident of posting better results (BT)

SIBU: Sarawak shipbuilder, TAS Offshore Bhd, is optimistic of recording higher revenue and profits for financial years 2013 and
2014 on some RM253.3 million worth of shipbuilding contracts.

Its managing director, Datuk Lau Nai Hoh, said the contracts included a RM147.8 million order for anchor-handling tug supply vessels (AHTS), RM60.7 million for tugboats, RM31.7 million for harbour tugs and RM13.1 million for landing crafts.

In a statement issued before the company's annual general meeting here today, Lau said for its financial year ended May 31, 2012, TAS had delivered 19 tugboats and two AHTS.

He said the demand for tugboats and offshore vessels in the oil and gas industry would, in particular, strengthen its future business growth.

Smartbiz: Price peaked at 0.51 on 18/10/2012 and is under consolidation now. Based on charts, price is moving in uptrend as it has recorded several higher-lows. Price will reverse to test various resistances once it completed the consolidation. Presently, its previous peak 0.51 will be a tough barrier.
