MUI denies Corus Hotel Hyde Park disposal report (Edge)

Malayan United Industries Bhd (MUI) has denied news reports that the firm was planing to dispose of its Corus Hotel Hyde Park in the UK.
MUI, in response to a report in The Edge Financial Daily last Monday, also denied it had appointed real estate firm Debutesq Group for the sale of the property.

Today, MUI said in a statement to Bursa Malaysia that it “makes no admission with regard to the contents of the said article”, and announced it was not involved in the publication of the report.

“The company is of the view that the contents of the said article is speculative in nature, and would strongly advise its shareholders not to rely on the same,” it said.

At 12.30pm, MUI shares fell one sen or 3% to 31.5 sen, for a market value of RM924 million.
