Faber to become regional player on merger with Opus, Propel (Star)

Faber Group Bhd is set to become one of the region's largest asset development and asset management players following the completion of a RM1.15bil merger with Opus Group Bhd (Opus) and Projek Penyelenggaraan Lebuhraya Bhd (Propel).

Faber managing director and chief executive officer Azmir Merican said with the merger, Faber now has, under one roof, a full suite of strategic solutions and services spanning infrastructure consultancy, facilities management, property management, energy and healthcare services.

"We aim to help our clients optimise the value of their assets by introducing strategic asset management which takes into account the asset life cycle cost.

"The approach would not only allow our clients to attain significant cost savings in the long run, maximise their competitiveness and profitability but it would also provide lower life cycle costs and the best possible return on investment.

"It would also increase their asset availability, reliability and safety performance which in turn allow them to provide better services to their own end-clients," he said in a statement. The conclusion of the merger sees Faber having a combined workforce of over 13,500 and the formation of a new organisational structure that introduces the centralisation of support functions which rests at Faber.

Prior to the merger, Faber was a hospital support services provider and property developer. - Bernama
