Malaysia's economy may contract by more than 1% this year but is expected to return to positive growth next year, FM II Datuk Ahmad Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah said. Husni said PM Datuk Seri Najib Razak will announce the revised forecast. Husni expects the economy to recover from 3Q09, as that is when the impact of the government's recent RM67bn stimulus measures would be felt. Next year, the country should be able to register positive economic growth, he added. (BT)
