June Deadline to Conclude Selangor Water Talks (ext: OSK)

The government has set a June deadline to conclude talks of restructuring the water services in Selangor, which is three months later than the original deadline of March this year. Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui expects to finalise talks with the Selangor state government by the end of next month.

The joint task force, which was set up for the negotiations, will have its second meeting in Putrajaya tomorrow.

The meeting will also involve representatives from Pengurusan Aset Air (PAAB) and the National Water Services Commission. The negotiations will look at the whole package, the asset cost and so on. For example, how much PAAB has to come up with in order to take over the asset. (BT)
