Sentiment Index - Malaysia Stock Market

Constructed and written by Smartbiz

Intraday Oscillator: Market sentiment was worse than yesterday as the key index lingering below the zero level. The Oscillator opened in positive zone but fast to lose steam and fell into the red to end at -389.90; lost 519.36 compared to its opening point at +129.46. The Average recorded a loss of 239.11, sagged by 37.28 when compared with -201.83 of
the previous session.
MSCD: After today’s market, %K fell deeper and the Histogram printed another longer bar in the negative zone.

MSCD data are appended as below:

DATE A_OSC %K %D %A HGM
28/8/2012 318.39 149.26 109.49 87.66 19.70
29/8/2012 48.64 133.78 104.98 86.24 21.52
30/8/2012 277.51 155.89 117.76 93.19 24.84
3/9/2012 201.83 162.95 123.99 97.14 27.67
4/9/2012 239.11 174.67 132.52 102.31 30.56
LAST+- 37.28 11.71 8.53 5.16 2.90

Conclusion:
Market sentiment didn’t show any sign of regaining strength since diminishing from last week. Chart shows %K has printed a lower-low and the Histogram kept on printing longer bars in the negative zone indicating a new trend has been formed. Until and unless %K has found a new support, market sentiment will keep on losing strength with selling accelerating bit by bit.

The continuous raising of the key index with no concrete base made investors more nervous, instead.
