Infortech ties up with SWT of China (Star)

Infortech Alliance Bhd has tied up with China-based SWT International Sdn Bhd to undertake the development, management, operation and implementation of medical waste in Malaysia.

Citing a Frost & Sullivan in 2010, Infortech said the medical waste management industry was expected to hit double-digit growth of 12.8% annually and triple its revenue base to RM2.1bil by 2015.

Frost & Sullivan has also estimated that the total load of hospital waste in Malaysia may soon reach 33,000 tonnes per annum by 2020. However, the current incinerators’ design and capacity can only support incineration of up to 18,000 tonnes of waste annually and there is an urgent need for new incinerators.
